NEW DELHI, October 28: Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) preliminary exam has been conducted on October 28. The exam, comprising paper 1 and paper 2, was conducted in the pen and paper mode in two sessions – morning and afternoon. Each paper was conducted for 2 hours and included objective type multiple choice questions.
Both the papers of UPPSC preliminary exam were conducted for 200 marks each. They carry a negative marking of 0.33 marks for every wrong answer. As per the notification, paper 2 of the preliminary exam is qualifying in nature. Candidates have to secure 33% minimum qualifying marks to qualify paper 2. The qualifying marks of paper 1 has not been released yet. Candidates, who qualify paper 2, will be eligible to appear for the next round of the selection process.
UPPSC preliminary exam result is expected to be declared in December. Candidates selected for the mains exam i.e. the second round of the selection process will be 18 times the number of vacancies. Candidates who qualify the mains exam will be called for a personality test.
UPPSC 2018 is conducted for the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Provincial Civil Services (P.C.S) and Assistant Conservator of Forest (A.C.F.)/Range Forest Officer (R.F.O.) services for recruitment to various posts like Deputy Superintendent of Police, Deputy Collector, Statistical Officer, and Block Development Officer among others.
