UPPSC PCS prelims 2024 postponed; exam expected in July
UPPSC postponed the PCS preliminary exam scheduled for March 18 due to ‘unavoidable’ reasons.

NEW DELHI : The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has postponed the Combined State, Upper Subordinate Services preliminary exam 2024 due to ‘unavoidable’ reasons. The UPPSC PCS prelims 2024 was scheduled for March 17. The said exam is expected to be conducted in the month of July, the commission said in an official notice.
“With reference to the Combined State / Senior Subordinate Services (Pvt.) Examination-2024 advertised under the Commission's Advertisement No. A-1 / E-1 / 2024 dated 01-01-2024, it is hereby informed that the examination in question was proposed by the Commission on March 17, 2024. The said examination is postponed due to unavoidable reasons, the examination in question is likely to be held in the month of July, information about which will be given in due course of time,” UPPSC notice read.
UPPSC PCS prelims 2024 will be conducted to fill 220 posts. Aspirants were able to apply for the exam till February 2.
The postponement comes after recruitment exams in the state were marred with paper leaks and cancellations. Recently, state chief minister Yogi Adityanath announced the cancellation of UPPSC RO, ARO exam 2024. The paper was allegedly leaked and candidates were demanding re-exam.
In a similar incident, the Uttar Pradesh government recently removed the chairperson of the UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, Renuka Mishra, amid question paper leak allegations in the constable recruitment examination. UP Police Constable exam 2024 was allegedly leaked following which the state government cancelled the exam.
