UPPSC RO ARO exam cancelled over paper leak allegations; re-exam in six months

NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) RO, ARO exam, conducted on February 12, has been cancelled due to allegations of a paper leak. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath informed about the exam cancellation on his official X handle (formally Twitter). The exam will be conducted again in the next six months, the information further said.

The chief minister warned the culprits and said, “Those who play with the sanctity of the examination will not be spared under any circumstances. The culprits of the youth will be given such punishment which will set an example.”

Previously, candidates took to social media platforms, especially X (formerly Twitter), expressing their outrage over alleged paper leaks and demanding the cancellation of the exam. In response, the commission formed an internal committee to probe the irregularities and decided to engage the Special Task Force (STF) in the examination inquiry.

The UPPSC exam, conducted on February 11, aimed to fill a total of 411 vacancies for the positions of Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) through this recruitment drive. The new exam schedule will be uploaded on the official website at uppsc.up.nic.in.

The Uttar Pradesh Police Constable recruitment exam for 2024, conducted on February 17 and 18, has been cancelled following allegations of a paper leak. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the re-examination will take place within the next six months.

In addition to the decision to conduct the re-examination, the state government has instructed to provide free transportation facilities to the candidates through the Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation.
