UPSC CDS 2, NDA 2 registration deadline extended till June 11; exam on September 13

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has extended the last date to register for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) 2 and National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (NDA) 2 examinations 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for UPSC CDS 2 and NDA 2 till 6 pm tomorrow, June 11, through the official website, upsconline.nic.in.

According to the UPSC CDS, NDA schedule, the commissioned officers' recruitment exam will be conducted in offline pen-and-paper mode on September 13. For CDS 2, the exam is scheduled to be conducted at 84 test centres, while NDA 2 will be held at 86 centres.

A total of 845 vacancies have been announced for the UPSC CDS 2 and NDA 2 recruitment 2026. Of these, 394 posts will be filled through the UPSC NDA 2 2026 exam, while 451 vacancies are available through the UPSC CDS 2 2026 recruitment exam.

To complete the UPSC CDS 2 and NDA 2 registration process, candidates will have to pay the required application fee. For the CDS 2 exam, the fee is Rs 200, while female, SC, and ST candidates are exempted. For the NDA 2 exam, the application fee is Rs 100.

UPSC CDS 2, NDA 2 exam pattern 2026

The UPSC CDS 2026 selection process includes a written exam followed by an interview. The written test has three papers — English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics. Each paper carries 100 marks and lasts 2 hours.

For UPSC NDA 2026, the Mathematics paper carries 300 marks, and the General Ability Test carries 600 marks. Candidates who qualify will appear for the SSB interview, which carries 900 marks.

Negative marking applies to objective-type questions in both the CDS and NDA exams 2026.
