UPSC exam review - Paper analysis by Civilsdaily

As per the Civilsdaily, which is India’s a government exam mentoring platform the UPSC exam review was toughness just like previous year. As per the UPSC exam review, there were factual questions, the expected cutoff can be close to 95. 3 questions were from Sports, which was a first in the last 20 years.

There direct questions from Polity NCERT (Class 11th and 12th. eg: Constitutional government, Constitutional status of India in 1950, Devi Lal, essential features that indicates India's federal character.

According to the UPSC exam review, there were questions from medieval history where 9 questions were there.

Questions from environment had a bent towards traditional knowledge. Basic understanding of phylum's, symbiotic relationships etc has more focus.

More focus on UNEP, UNFCCC etc.

Science Technology were seemed to be inspired from current affairs. The questions checked aspirants, fundamental understanding in types of viruses, bacteria, recombinant vector vaccines etc.

The overall UPSC exam review said that paper was on similar lines compared to last year. It was a factual paper. Almost 1/3rd the questions were tough. While the economy, modern history and Polity questions were doable if you have studied the standard sources, on the other hand, the majority of Environment, Science, Medieval and Ancient history Questions were tough as they were not from the standard sources and required both conceptual clarity and the application of intelligent guessing. Civilsdaily believe that the cut off will be a little higher this year compared to last year as the number of seats has reduced from 796 to 712.

UPSC IAS Dress Code

The Union Public Service Commission will start conducting the Civil Services Exam in a while. There are no specific UPSC IAS dress code instructions specified by the exam conducting authority, however, it is advised for the appearing candidates to wear easy and relaxing outfits like shirt, T-shirts, jeans pants, casual pants or formal dress, as they will have to be at the exam centre for close to 6 hours, so heavy outfits can add on to heat and unnecessary stress.

As per the UPSC IAS dress code for girls can wear anything that is comfortable and easy to carry like suit, saree, jeans top etc. Aspirants must avoid wearing chino shorts or any kind of other flashy clothes that may attract unwanted attention. Along with UPSC IAS dress code aspirants must also wear a simple analog wrist watch and not carry heavy jewellery, costly watches etc.
