Download EBookNEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has activated the Detailed Application Form (DAF) 2 window for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. Candidates who have qualified in the UPSC CSE Mains 2024 can fill the UPSC CSE DAF 2 through the official website, upsc.gov.in. The last date to fill the application form is December 19 till 6 pm.

UPSC CSE Mains result 2024 was declared on December 9. Candidates who qualified the written examination held between September 20 and 29 will be eligible for the interviews or personality tests. The commission will announce the UPSC CSE interview dates soon.
“All the candidates, who qualified for the Personality Tests (Interviews), are required to fill and submit their Detailed Application Form-II (DAF-II) mandatorily,” the commission said while announcing the mains exam results.
UPSC CSE 2024 DAF 2 rules
The following provisions have been made in CSE 2024 rules:
- Before the commencement of interview or personality test of the examination, a candidate will be required to mandatorily indicate order of preferences only for those services which are participating in the CSE 2024 and for which the candidate is interested to be allocated to in case of eventual selection, in the online DAF II.
- In case of recommendation of candidature for service allocation, the candidate will be considered by the government for allocation to one of those services for which the preference has been indicated by the candidate in the online DAF subject to fulfilment of other conditions. No change in preferences for services once submitted by a candidate would be allowed. In case preference for none of the services is indicated, the candidates will not be considered for service allocation.
- A candidate who wishes to be considered for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) or Indian Police Service (IPS) will be required to indicate in the online DAF II, the order of preferences for various zones and cadres for which the candidate would like to be considered for allotment in case of appointment to the IAS or IPS. No change in preference of zones and cadres once submitted by a candidate would be permitted.
“Any delay in submission of the DAF-II or documents in support beyond the prescribed date will not be allowed and will lead to cancellation of the candidature for the CSE 2024,” UPSC stated.
