The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will end the objection process for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination (CSE) 2026 answer key today, May 31, 2026, at 6 pm. Applicants can raise their objections on the challenge portal at upsconline.nic.in.

A total of around 5.49 lakh aspirants enrolled for the examination this year. Candidates who identify discrepancies in the provisional answer key can raise objections through the online portal within the stipulated timeframe. The UPSC has stated that representations submitted via email, postal mail, or any other offline channel will not be considered.

The UPSC exam was conducted on May 24, 2026 and the tentative answer key was out on May 27, 2026 on the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in.

UPSC CSE Prelims 2026 Answer Key: Steps to raise objections

To raise the objection against the UPSC CSE prelims answer key 2026 follow the steps given below:

  • Access the UPSC online application portal and sign in using the one-time registration (OTR) credentials
  • On the candidate dashboard, click on the question paper representation (QPRep) option
  • Select the appropriate question booklet series/code from the provided list
  • Identify and choose the question against which aspirant wish to file an objection
  • Provide a detailed explanation supporting the claim and attach at least three authentic references or sources

As per the official announcement, every objection submitted by candidates will undergo a detailed review by panels of subject experts. These specialists will thoroughly evaluate each representation, examine the supporting evidence and references provided by candidates, and determine whether any changes to the answer key are warranted. Their findings and recommendations will then be recorded after a careful assessment of the disputed questions.

To access the answer key, candidates can follow these steps:

  • Visit the official UPSC website at upsconline.nic.in
  • Locate the What's New section or click on the Answer Key link available on the homepage
  • Open the relevant links for Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 GS Paper I or GS Paper II (CSAT) answer key
  • The answer key PDF containing solutions for all booklet sets will be displayed on the screen
  • Download and save the file to compare it with your responses and assess your performance before the objection window closes

Candidates should keep in mind that the Commission will publish the final answer key only after the entire examination process concludes and the final results are announced, following its established procedure.
