UPSC ESE Interview: Reimbursement of travelling expenses
Candidates appearing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Engineering Services Examination (ESE) Interview are eligible for reimbursement of travel expenses. This reimbursement is specifically restricted to the Second Class/Sleeper class train fare, applicable for travel via Mail Express trains. This provision aims to ease the financial burden on candidates who are required to travel for the interview.
It is important to note that if a candidate chooses to travel by any other mode or class of transport, such as air travel or higher train classes, the reimbursement will be handled according to the rules set out in S.R.-132. The Commission has clear guidelines for such cases, and these guidelines can be found on the official UPSC website under the forms and downloads section.
For candidates seeking reimbursement, the required Travelling Allowance Form is available online at UPSC Travelling Allowance Form. Candidates must adhere to the Commission’s guidelines to ensure smooth processing of their claims.
This system of reimbursement is a part of UPSC’s efforts to make the examination process more accessible to candidates from across the country, ensuring that the cost of travel does not become a barrier to participation in the interview process.
