UPTAC Btech Admission 2026: Registration from May 25; AKTU releases counselling schedule

UPTAC 2026 admission schedule out for btech courses; special rounds begin in July
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow has released the tentative counselling schedule for Bachelor of Technology admissions through Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling, UPTAC 2026. Following schedule, the registration process for BTech admissions will begin on May 25, 2026. The counselling details for other courses will be released separately.
The counselling process will be conducted in multiple rounds for candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2026 and have either passed Class 12 from Uttar Pradesh or are domiciled in the state. Registration, fee payment and document upload for round 1 will be conducted between May 25 and June 15, 2026. Candidates must apply online within this duration as registration will not be permitted in round 2, round 3 or round 4.
Document verification for the first round will be done between May 28 and June 20. During this, candidates will also be allowed to respond to queries raised during the verification process. The online choice filling and locking process for round 1 will be held from June 22 to June 25, while seat allotment results will be announced on June 27. Candidates allotted seats will have to pay the seat confirmation fee between June 27 and June 29. They will also have to choose the freeze or float option within the same period.

Round 2, 3 counselling dates
The second round of counselling will begin with online choice alteration and locking from June 30 to July 1. Seat allotment results for Round 2 will be announced on July 3. Candidates receiving fresh allotments will have to pay the confirmation fee and submit willingness between July 3 and July 5. Round 3 will begin with online choice locking from July 6 to July 7.
Seat allotment for Round 3 will be announced on July 9. Candidates can complete payment formalities, submit willingness and withdraw from counselling till July 10. The fourth round of counselling will take place on July 11 with auto-freeze enabled for all candidates. Students receiving new allotments will have to pay the seat confirmation fee between July 11 and July 13.
Candidates can withdraw from counselling till July 16. Physical reporting at allotted institutions will be conducted from July 14 to July 16.

AKTU will conduct an internal sliding round for physically reported candidates from July 14 to July 16. Seat allotment for internal sliding will be announced on July 18, followed by publication of vacant seats for special counselling rounds. Two special rounds will also be conducted for candidates applying through JEE Main 2026, CUET UG 2026 and Class 12 merit.
