UP Assembly Election 2022: The AAP manifesto said that the Constitution will be taught in the government schools and promised 10 lakh jobs for youth.

NEW DELHI: With a promise to improve education in Uttar Pradesh, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said it will allocate 25% of the state’s budget to education if voted to power in its maiden UP assembly elections.
The AAP released its manifesto or “guarantee patra” for the UP assembly polls 2022 on Thursday. Sanjay Singh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in-charge released the manifesto during a press conference.

The key promises include 10 lakh jobs for youth, Rs 5,000 per month unemployment allowance and 25% state budget allocation to education.
Sanjay Singh said that the AAP will ensure minimum Rs 25,000 per month salary for teachers of private schools. Rs 1 crore compensation to the family of those who died on Covid-19 duty, including teachers.
Taking a dig at the Yogi Adityanath-led government, Singh said that the Aam Aadmi Party will stand against the people who use lathi-charge to silence protesters. He also compared the lathi charge against the farmers on January 26, 2021, and the clash between protesting youth in UP and police on Republic Day 2022.
All candidates who have cleared Uttar Pradesh teachers eligibility test (UPTET) or have a BEd degree can apply for the recruitment, he said. He also promised that the UP teachers recruitment process to fill 97,000 posts will be completed. The party also promised to look into teachers recruitment in private schools.
In addition, the AAP also promised 80% of government jobs in Uttar Pradesh will be reserved for youths of the state. The AAP manifesto said that the Constitution will be taught in the government schools and Shiksha Mitra will be regularised.

Five states - Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Manipur, and Uttarakhand - will go for assembly polls in February. Uttar Pradesh will go to poll in seven phases from February 10 to March 7, 2022.
