VIT Andhra Pradesh University holds 6th annual convocation; 3,877 graduates receive degrees

The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Andhra Pradesh hosted its 6th annual convocation. VIT Andhra Pradesh conferred degrees to 877 graduates, including 86 PhD scholars and 31 gold medalists during the ceremony.

According to the VIT AP press release, the convocation was attended by Justice B Krishna Mohan, Judge, High Court of Andhra Pradesh, as the chief guest, while Suceendran KM, the head of Academic Alliances Group, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), was the guest of honour.

The ceremony was presided over by G Viswanathan, the founder and chancellor, in the presence of Sankar Viswanathan, the vice president, Kadhambari S Viswanathan, AVP; P Arulmozhivarman, the vice chancellor; and Jagadish C Mudiganti, the registrar, along with faculty, staff, parents and graduating students.

VIT AP 6th convocation ceremony

While addressing the graduating students, Justice Mohan congratulated all the graduates and also appreciated the university’s emphasis on practical learning through its flexible learning system, mentoring programmes, engineering Clinics, industry-oriented curriculum and international collaborations.

He further urged the graduating students to continue learning throughout their professional lives and make use of the opportunities provided at the university for flexible course selection, practical learning, multidisciplinary projects, internships, entrepreneurship training and international exposure.

VIT AP founder and chancellor G Viswanathan congratulated the graduating students, their parents and faculty members on the occasion. He particularly congratulated the 86 PhD scholars, observing that doctoral research represents years of persistence, inquiry, experimentation and intellectual discipline.

Arulmozhivarman, the VC of VIT Andhra Pradesh, said that the batch has recorded encouraging placement results, with an average package of Rs 7 lakh per annum and the highest package of Rs 96.26 lakh per annum, reaffirming the institute’s commitment to providing students with industry-related education, experiential learning and opportunities to build careers.
