NEW DELHI: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has reduced the 30-35 per cent syllabus of Class 10 for Madhyamik Pariksha 2022. The board has reduced the syllabus for seven subjects. This decision has been made as no physical classes were held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A notification in this regard has been sent by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education to the heads of all institutions. The reduced syllabus will be effective for all seven subjects, which includes first language, second language, History, Geography, Physical Science, Life Science and Mathematics.
As per Indian Express, the headmaster of a state-run school in Jadavpur said students were facing difficulties due to the suspension of offline classes, and online classes were less than adequate for an average student to complete the entire syllabus. Therefore, the board decided to take this decision.
Earlier, the board released the WBBSE Madhyamik result 2021 and recorded 100% pass percentage. A total of 79 students scored 697 marks in WBBSE result 2021.
Students are also curious to know about the school reopening in West Bengal. As per the last update, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said schools might reopen in the state on alternate days after Durga Puja is over. It completely depends on COVID-19, if the situation is conducive then only the schools will reopen.
