WBCS 2019 notification released on Nov 6; Apply before Nov 25

NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 6: Public Service Commission, West Bengal has released notification for West Bengal Civil Service (Exe) etc. Examination, 2019 on November 6. The application form of WBCS has been released. Candidates can fill WBCS 2019 application form till November 25. The selection process includes – written exam and personality test. The written examination will be conducted in two stages – Preliminary and Mains examinations. According to the notification, the preliminary examination of WBCS 2019 will be conducted on January 20, 2019.
To apply for WBCS 2019, candidates have to first register/enroll themselves for the exam by submitting their mobile number, password, name, date of birth, father’s name, mother’s name and email ID. After successful registration, candidates will be provided user ID and password. To fill the detailed application form, candidates have to login with their user ID and password. According to WBCS 2019 eligibility criteria, the age of candidates should be between 21 to 36 years and must be a graduate.
The application fees which is Rs 210 can be remitted online through debit/credit card or net banking and offline through bank challan. SC/ST candidates of West Bengal and PWD having physical disability of 40% are exempted from payment of fee.
The preliminary exam of WBCS 2019 will be conducted across multiple centres in 20 cities of West Bengal.
As per WBCS exam pattern, the preliminary exam will consist of one paper on General Studies. The paper will have 200 objective type multiple choice questions which candidates will have to complete with 2 1/2 hours duration. Total marks allotted for the paper is 200 marks. The standard of questions will be of graduation level. Candidates qualifying the preliminary examination will be called for the mains examination.
WBCS 2019 mains exam will consist of 5 compulsory papers and one optional subject comprising of two papers. Candidates who will qualify the mains exam will be called to appear for the personality test. The personlity test for Group A & B posts will carry 200 marks while that for Group C and D posts are 150 and 100 marks, respectively.
WBCS examination is conducted for recruitment to West Bengal Civil Service (Exe.) and certain other services and posts.
