Subscribe NowNEW DELHI: The Kolkata Metro Rail Authorities have agreed to run special metro services on Sunday for students appearing in the WBCS prelims exam . The Public Service Commission, West Bengal (WBPSC) will conduct the West Bengal Civil Service (Exe) (Preliminary) Examination 2021 on August 22, 2021 (Sunday).
This decision has been taken for the smooth and hassle-free movement of candidates who will be appearing on the WBCS prelims exam 2021. The exam conducting officials have released notice on their official website wbpsc.gov.in, stating the same.

Candidates can avail the special services of Kolkata Metro Rail from 10 AM onwards. They will have to produce their admit card of WBCS along with the smart card to board the metro train.
The WBCS admit card was delayed due to technical glitch. WBPSC announced the West Bengal Civil Services (WBCS) prelims revised exam dates along with the exam dates of West Bengal Audit & Accounts Service prelims and WBCS Mains 2020. The WBCS Main exam 2020 will be held on August 27, 28, 29 and 31, 2021.
Earlier, the WBCS 2021 prelims was scheduled to be conducted on May 30, while the WBCS Mains 2020 was scheduled from May 17 to 21. However, both the exams got postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and Bengal assembly elections.
What is WBCS exam?
WBCS is the state civil services exam conducted by the WBPSC, to fill various posts in administrative, revenue, police and other departments. The posts are of gazetted officers Grade 1, 2.
The WBCS exam is being conducted in three stages - preliminary, mains and interview/personality test. Of the three stages, the prelims is conducted in OMR-sheet based offline mode, the mains is conducted in offline and descriptive mode, while the personality test is conducted in one-to-one interview mode.
