WUD’s six-month programme which focuses on careers in Bollywood starts from March 2022

NEW DELHI: World University of Design (WUD) in Sonipat, Haryana, has launched a new certificate programme in film acting, set to begin from March 2022 The programme will be of six-months duration and aims to provide training in acting for a career in Bollywood, the Mumbai film industry. The programme will be headed by acting trainer Farrukh Naqi Azmi.
“The programme will induct a maximum of up to 25 students in a batch. Candidates will be selected based on their application and performance in a personal interview,” said a statement from WUD.

The programme is divided into two parts. The first three months will include acting training, and the second half of three months will require the candidates to act in a feature film, which will be produced by WUD.
“The programme aims to develop confidence in the candidates to act effortlessly in front of the camera. The course will further develop the candidates’ speech and language skills, enabling better dialogue delivery. The course will help them become skilled in facial expressions, good body language and flexibility. It will sharpen their observation skills, imagination, sense and emotional memories. The programme also includes training in dance and action choreography,” said the statement.

“Excited to include a film acting programme in our menu of courses! More than that I am exhilarated to have Mr. Azmi boarded with us. I am confident that the seats will be filled soon,” said Sanjay Gupta, vice-chancellor, World University of Design.
The World Design University (WUD), located at the Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Sonipat, Haryana, was launched in 2018. It aims to educate students in the creative domain and offers programmes such as architecture, design, fashion, communication, visual arts, performing arts and management, among others.
