IGNOU launches online MBA programme approved by AICTE

NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a new online Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme today. The online MBA will be offered by IGNOU's School of Management Studies and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Candidates will be able to enrol in the course from January 2022 onwards.

“The online MBA programme will include self-study digital material, online live learning sessions, and pre-recorded video lectures. Sessions will also be provided to online students through GyanDarshan, mobile app, social media platforms, Gyanvani, together with e-mail support from IGNOU,” said a statement from IGNOU.

The programme includes 28 courses spanning four semesters, having 116 credits as weightage. The MBA programme is offered to Indian and foreign students as well. The programme duration is two years but students can take a maximum of four years to complete.

The MBA programme was launched by Nageshwar Rao, the vice-chancellor of IGNOU on January 11, 2022.

IGNOU Online MBA: Eligibility, fees

Given below is the fee structure for the postgraduate online MBA course:

• Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks for general category

• Bachelor’s degree with 45% marks for reserved categories

Candidates from India and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries are required to pay Rs 14,000 for semesters 1,2 and 4. The third-semester fee is Rs 16,000.
