NEW DELHI: XLRI Jamshedpur has successfully conducted XAT 2021 exam today in computer based mode. As per the exam pattern, XAT exam time duration of the test was three hours with a total of 100 MCQs. The level of the XAT test was observed as moderately difficult. The sections from which questions were asked in XAT exam are Verbal and Logical Ability (VA & LR), Decision Making (DM), Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation (QA & DI), General Knowledge (GK). In comparison to previous year, for this year’s XAT analysis, it can be said that the paper was comparatively easy.
As it is a well known fact that XAT exam is known for its difficulty level especially the Decision Making section being tricky. The experts from various institutes have released the XAT 2021 exam analysis which comprises XAT section wise difficulty level, changes in XAT exam pattern, expected cutoff, number of good attempts and more.

XAT Analysis 2021: Key Features

  • The paper was divided into two parts, Part A and Part B. Part A consisted of questions in XAT from Verbal and Logical Ability (VA & LR), Decision Making (DM), Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation (QA & DI).

  • Part B section was general knowledge section

  • There were a total of 100 MCQs to be solved in time span of 180 minutes

  • One mark is awarded to every correct answer while a penalty of 0.25 marks is deducted for incorrect answers

  • General Knowledge section had no negative marking and was to be solved in a duration of 15 minutes

According to Ayesha Banda, the difficulty level of the XAT exam paper lied between moderate to difficult, only that it was comparatively easier as compared to the previous year. Decision Making section was easiest among all sections. The Verbal Ability section was tougher. Antonyms and passage questions were easy. On the other hand , the parajumbles did consume time. The QA and DI section were a bit on a difficult side.

Vivek, one of the test takers at Samaypur Badli XAT test centre said, “ I appeared for XAT exam for the first time and since my preparation was well, I could easily solve QA and DI sections which are said to be difficult. However I faced difficulty in Logical Reasoning questions. The decision making section had tricky questions. The paper was easily manageable and with the proper strategy one can easily ace the XAT exam.”

At XAT test centres, students did not face any difficulty in terms of covid-19 measures. However it was raining and hence some students did face problems reaching the test centre.
