XAT 2027 registration for MBA, PGDM starts on July 15; day 1 applicants to get first-choice test city

Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, on behalf of the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI), will begin the registration process for the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2027 on July 15, 2026. Candidates who complete their registration on the first day will be allotted their first preferred test city, the institute announced.

XLRI conducts the XAT for admissions to Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programmes offered by more than 250 participating business schools across India. The entrance examination is held in over 100 cities nationwide and has been conducted for more than 75 years.

According to the XLRI press release, candidates registering on the opening day will receive confirmation of their allotted test city by August 5, 2026, allowing them more time to plan their travel and focus on exam preparation.

Announcing the registration schedule, XLRI said the day 1 test city allotment is a new initiative introduced for XAT 2027 to make the admission process more convenient for aspirants.

Speaking on the announcement, Rahul Shukla, convenor, XAT 2027, said, “For decades, XAT has been a trusted gateway for aspirants who seek quality management education and meaningful career opportunities. What makes XAT valuable is not only the institutions it opens doors to but also the way it identifies students with the ability to think independently, make sound decisions and grow into responsible management professionals.”

Further, he added, “For XAT 2027, we will continue to build on this value while introducing initiatives that support aspirants through their preparation and make their test-taking journey more reassuring and student-friendly.”

XAT 2027 eligibility for MBA and PGDM

The XAT examination is open to graduates from any academic discipline. Candidates with or without prior work experience are eligible to apply, making the entrance exam suitable for a diverse group of management aspirants.

How to apply for XAT 2027

Candidates can follow these steps to complete the XAT 2027 registration successfully.

  • Go to the XAT 2027 official website at xatonline.in.
  • Register for the XAT 2027 exam by entering email address and phone number.
  • Next, log in using the XAT 2027 registration number and password
  • Enter the asked details and upload the required documents.
  • Pay the XAT 2027 application fee
  • Uploading the image and
  • Final submit
  • Download the application form and take a printout of it for future references.

XAT 2027 preparation support

XLRI said candidates preparing for XAT 2027 will have access to several support initiatives, including:

  • Multiple mock tests.
  • Live webinars with XAT convenors.
  • Online interaction sessions with previous years' toppers.

The institute said these initiatives are aimed at helping applicants prepare more effectively and gain confidence before the examination.

With registrations opening on July 15, XLRI has advised candidates to apply early to benefit from the guaranteed first-choice test city on the opening day and begin their preparation well in advance for the MBA entrance examination.
