Key school boards, including the CBSE and CISCE, had cancelled their remaining class 10 and class 12 exams amid growing concerns over student safety in view of the spike in COVID-19 cases. The boards had also announced their respective results using alternative assessment schemes based on performance in exams already conducted or internal assessment. Considering the partial cancellation of class 12 exams by several Boards, the Joint Admission Board (JAB) decided to relax the class 12 marks criterion for JEE (Advanced) 2020 qualified candidates.
With the new decision, all JEE Advanced 2020 qualified candidates are eligible to apply for admissions to IITs if they have passed their class 12.
For admissions to #IITs, apart from qualifying the #JEE (Advanced), the eligibility was to secure either minimum score of 75% marks in class XII Board exams or rank among the top 20 percentile in their qualifying examinations. @HRDMinistry @PIB_India @MIB_India @DDNewslive

Amongst these only those meet the class 12 eligibility criterion specified above are eligible to apply through JoSAA for the IIT admissions. This year all the 2,50,000 candidates will be eligible for the admissions if they have passed class 12.
JEE Advanced 2020 will be held on September 27. It is a computer based test for admissions to the B.Tech and dual degree/ integrated engineering programmes in 23 Indian Institutes of Technology. IIT Delhi is the organizing institute for JEE Advanced 2020.
NIT, IIIT and CFTI admission criteria
The big question that has not been answered is the eligibility criterion for NIT, IIIT and CFTI admissions which are through JEE Main. The class 12 marks criterion for these institutes are also the same as the IITs but this has not been announced as of yet by the minister or the officials. However, with the relaxation for IITs in place, the same can be expected for the NITs, IIITs and CFTIs too.
