A total of 771500 candidates have qualified from 1366945 candidates who appeared for the exam. While NEET registrations saw an increase of 5.14%, it saw a dip in the candidates who actually appeared for the exam and this was on account of COVID. As per orders of the government of India, all states and UTs, MBBS, and BDS seats will be allocated from the central pool for spouses and children of victims of terrorist attacks through NEET 2020 result and counselling. The tweet regarding the update on NEET 2020 has been mentioned below.

The Medical Education Cell, ESIC has announced the cancellation of ESIC reservations for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - NEET counselling 2020-21 through an official notice. The authorities have further informed that 'seats filled up in previous years under IP Quota in ESIC Medical/Dental Colleges would be filled up by DGHS, GoI, as All Inida Quota Seats.
As per the earlier NEET 2020 result date, NTA was highly expected to release the result on October at ntaneet.nic.in. However NTA has issued its decision over the release of NEET result that it will be releasing on October 16 because of NEET phase 2 exam. NTA has conducted a second phase of NEET UG exam for candidates who could not appear for the September 13 exam because they were either COVID-positive or they are in contaminated zones.
As per the media reports, the NEET 2020 result will be declared around 4:00 PM at ntaneet.nic in. However, NTA has not released any particular notice on NEET result time. So, aspirants are advised to keep a track of ntaneet.nic.in result 2020 for any update regarding declaration.
The good news for all NEET aspirants and qualifiers is that there is an increase in the All India seats. This is on account of the AIIMS and JIPMER seats merged into the All India counselling. These are around 1400 seats which earlier were through the AIIMS and JIPMER entrance exams.
In addition, the ESIC seats under the IP quota are now available for all students under the All India quota for 2020-2021. These are another additional seats of more than 317.
Students who qualify as per NEET result will have the advantage of these additional seats.
