6 honoured at IIM Ahmedabad’s Young Alumni Achiever’s Awards

NEW DELHI, JUNE 17: IIM Ahmedabad has announced the list of winners to receive the Young Alumni Achiever’s Awards in different categories. The winners included Boston Consulting group’s South East Asia Head and the Reader in physics of the University of Cambridge.
The awards, started in 2015, are given to alumni under the age of 45 to recognize outstanding achievements in specific fields. This year’s awards were given in three categories in corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, and academics.
Mr Sumit Jalan, Managing Director, Co-Head of Investment Banking and Capital Markets, Credit Suisse; Ms Vaishali Rastogi, Senior Partner and Managing Director, Head of South East Asia, The Boston Consulting Group; and Mr Viraj Sawhney, Managing Director, Warburg Pincus, received awards in the corporate leaders’ category.
Mr Pranay Agrawal, CEO, Fractal Analytics and Mr Srikanth Velamakanni, Group CEO, Fractal Analytics, were the awardees in the entrepreneur category while Dr Suchitra Sebastian, University Reader in Physics, University of Cambridge was the sole awardee in the academics category.
Speaking on the awards, Prof. Errol D’Souza, Director, IIM Ahmedabad said, “IIMA is recognizing the contribution of six of its young alumni who have demonstrated leadership in a range of fields, spanning corporate, entrepreneurial, academic, and public service contributions. The careers of these aspirational individuals are role models for our students as behind each success is a story of diligence in goal setting and overcoming obstacles in the endeavour to achieve them.”
