NEW DELHI: The BITS Law School Mumbai commenced its first academic year of the five-year integrated BA and BBA LLB (Honours) degree programmes on August 1. A total of 120 students, of which 89 are women, are in the founding class.
As many as 4,300 applicants had applied for admission into the programmes. The students were selected based on performance in high school, extracurricular activities, personal interview, and a standardised law entrance test score including CLAT, LSAT–India, MH CET Law and BITS Law Entrance Test. The selected students are in the top 2% of all CLAT test takers and percentile score of 99.3 in LSAT-India.

BITS Law School is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and offers two five year integrated full time residential programmes – BA LLB (Hons) and BBA LLB (Hons) with an approved intake of 60 each. The 43% students in the founding batch are from the arts and humanities, 39% from commerce, and 18% from the science stream.
More than 50% of students in the founding class belong to 19 states and union territories other than Maharashtra. Ashish Bharadwaj, founding dean of BITS Law School said, “We are thrilled to welcome the founding class at the BITS Law School.
