75% students in IIM Kashipur’s MBA programme working professionals

IIM Kashipur offers 10 points weightage to students with work experience in MBA and MBA Analytics programmes.
NEW DELHI: Working professionals consist of 75% students admitted in the MBA programme of Indian Institute of Management (IIM Kashipur) this year. As per the data released by IIM Kashipur, 261 students admitted in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) 2023-25 batch have work experience.
The institute said, of 321 students, 126 students have 12-24 months of work experience, while 116 students have more than 24 months of work experience and 19 have 6-12 months of experience. Only 60 students are freshers, it added.
Female intake cause for concern
The data also reveals that more than 50% of students have an engineering background. Of the total students, 170 have an engineering background while 151 students from a non-engineering background. The male-female ratio is a cause for concern as only 62 students i.e. 19% are girls, the data revealed.
In the MBA Analytics 2023-25 batch, 39 students have above 24-month experience, 48 students have 12-24 Months experience and 11 students have 6-12 months experience. In a batch of 170, only 72 students are freshers. Eighty-one students are from non-engineering background while 89 had an engineering degree.
Abhradeep Maiti, Chairperson, Admission, IIM Kashipur, said, “IIM Kashipur is becoming the choice for working executives as it has specifically devised an environment for professionals. The institute offers 10 points weightage to students with work experience.”
Rs 18.11 LPA average package
On the placement front, the institute informed that the average salary package this year stands at Rs 18.11 lakh per annum, 19% higher than the last year placement drive. The highest package of Rs 37 lakh per annum (LPA), 28% more than the previous placement season.
It added that the median salary package was Rs 17.2 lakh per annum, a year-on-year growth of 16 percent. “The top 10 percent of the batch bagged an average CTC of Rs 28.5 LPA, for the top 20 percent,” IIM Kashipur added.

Ranked 19 in NIRF 2023
IIM Kashipur has secured the 19th rank in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023 of the ministry of education. IIM Kashipur has also become the only IIM to get into the Top 50 in the NIRF-ARIIA (Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements) quotient, the institute press release said.
