Sivankutty had said in an earlier tweet that Kerala’s education department has not sent anyone to learn about the ‘Delhi Model’. He also mentioned that the Kerala government had provided assistance to officials from Delhi who visited Kerala in March to study the ‘Kerala Model’. The tweet was in response to Marlena's claim that the Delhi government hosted officials from Kerala at schools in Kalkaji to enable them to understand and implement Delhi's education model in Kerala.

Replying to this tweet, Marlena asked the Kerala education minister to fact check before tweeting on the issue and asked him to check the Delhi government's press release, where it was mentioned that the dignitaries who visited the Delhi schools were from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) school management association and Kerala Sahodaya complexes, proving the point that it was not Kerala's public education department who sent the officials to Delhi.
