Agniveer Recruitment 2023: IAF announces eligibility, salary, other benefits; apply from March 17

NEW DELHI: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced the detailed selection procedure for Agniveer recruitment 2023 based on the new rules. Candidates will be able to apply for Agniveervayu from March 17 at the official website, agnipathvayu.cdac.in. The IAF for the first time will be conducting a written test based on the CBSE syllabus.

The registration process will begin from March 17 at 10 AM at agnipathvayu.cdac.in 2023 and will conclude on March 31 at 5 PM. Agniveervayu will be enrolled in the Indian Air Force for a period of four years.

“Agniveervayu would form a distinct rank in the Indian Air Force, different from any other existing ranks. The Indian Air Force is not obliged to retain Agniveervayu beyond the engagement period of four years,” the official notification read.

Agniveer Recruitment 2023: Eligibility

Aspirants can check the complete eligibility criteria announced by the Indian Air Force before applying for the recruitment.

Age limit - Candidates must be born between December 26, 2002 and June 26, 2006, both dates inclusive, are eligible to apply. In case, a candidate clears all the stages of the selection procedure, then the upper age limit as on date of enrolment should be 21 years.

Marital status and pregnancy - Only unmarried candidates male and female will be eligible for enrolment as Agniveervayu. They will also have to voluntarily sign an undertaking not to marry during the defined engagement period of four years. Female candidates additionally shall be required to undertake not to get pregnant during the engagement period.

Science subjects - Candidates should have passed Intermediate, Class 12 or equivalent exam with mathematics, physics and English from an education board listed as Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) website, cobse.org.in.

Applicants with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR passed a three years diploma course in engineering from a government-recognized polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate.

OR passed a two years vocational course with non-vocational subjects such as physics and mathematics from state education boards with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational courses

Other than science subjects - Candidates should have passed intermediate, Class 12 or equivalent examination in any stream with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

OR Passed two years’ vocational course with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course.

“Agniveervayu who marry during the said period shall be discharged from the service. Further, only unmarried Agniveervayu will be eligible for selection in the regular cadre as Airman.” it added.

Agniveer salary

Agniveervayu enrolled under this Agnipath scheme will be paid an Agniveer package of Rs 30,000 per month with a fixed yearly increment. “In addition, Risk and Hardship allowances (as applicable in IAF), Dress and Travel allowances will be paid. Perks such as ration, clothing, accommodation and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) shall also be provided as per the existing rules,” the Indian Air Force said. Approximately Rs 10.04 lakh as “Seva Nidhi Package”, Absolute amount excluding interest, will be provided for those who exit after 4 years.
