AICTE VAANI 2026-27: Impact, broader vision
Under the scheme, AICTE provides Rs 4 crore annually to support conferences, seminars, and workshops. Since its launch, VAANI has helped publish over 200 research papers in Indian languages, built a strong knowledge base, encouraged fresh content creation, and fostered closer ties between academic institutions and industry.
The initiative remains part of AICTE's broader push to make technical education more inclusive, giving students across India equal opportunity to engage with emerging technologies regardless of the language they think in.
The AICTE chairman also pointed out that many students study in their mother tongue throughout school, but struggle once they reach higher education, where English suddenly becomes the main language of instruction. He added that these students tend to do much better when concepts are explained in their own native languages.
