AILET 2024 PhD: NLU Delhi issues list of selected candidates for submission of research proposal

Try NowNEW DELHI: National Law University Delhi has issued the list of provisionally selected candidates for PhD programmes for the academic year 2024-25. The admission to PhD through the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET 2024) will be done through a two-stage selection process- written test and research proposal.

Candidates shortlisted through AILET and UGC-JRF will have to submit the research proposal by January 22, 2024. In the final selection, the university will give 70% weightage for written exam and 30% for research proposal and interview or viva-voce.
A total of 27 AILET qualified candidates, 46 UGC-JRF, 3 foreign nationals have been asked to submit the research proposals before the deadline.
The university offers 25+2 seats for PhD in Law, of which UGC-JRF qualified candidates will be granted 5 seats, 16 seats as per AILET merit, 4 under fellowship through AILET merit and 2 seats for foreign nationals.
Out of 4 seats, one will be offered for each category - UGC JRF, AILET, Foreign Nationals, Fellowships, for PhD in Social Sciences.

For UGC JRF qualified and foreign national candidates, a weightage of 50% will be given to the evaluation of research proposal and 45% for SC, ST and differently-abled candidates and 50% will be given to the results of interview/viva-voce.
“Candidates equal to three times the number of available seats will be shortlisted for defense of Research Proposal before the Doctoral Committee based on the evaluation of Research Proposals by the Research Advisory Committee,” it said.
“The decision of the Doctoral Committee in recommending the name of the candidates for admission to PhD programme shall be final. The admissions will finally be approved by the Vice-Chancellor on the recommendations of the Doctoral Committee,” the university added.
