ABVP wins all 9 seats in MUHS student council, senate elections

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has won all nine seats in the Maharashtra University of Health Science (MUHS) Student Council and Senate elections, marking its third consecutive sweep of the elections.

As per the ABVP , the result reflects the trust placed by students in its activists and their work on issues concerning the student community. The organisation said its activists have consecutively raised concerns related to academics, basic student amenities and student's rights.

The nine representatives include Senate members and six student council office-bearers. ABVP said the victory also brings the responsibility of addressing student concerns and working for their academic interests in the period ahead.

ABVP sweeps all nine election seats

The elected Senate members are Laxmikant Honkalas Mokashe (BHMS), Aditya Ramkisan Jaybhay (BDS), and Shubhankar Nitin Mangate (MBBS). Rohit Madhukar Mali (BPTH) has been elected president of the student council.

Yashraj Dhananjay Kakad (BPTH) and Mithilesh Shrikrishna Mahore (BAMS) have been elected vice-presidents, while Dnyaneshwar Raosaheb Andhale (BHMS) has been elected secretary. Keshav Sharad Patil (BSc Nursing) and Devanshi Prashant Bhurane (BDS) have been elected joint secretaries.

ABVP cited student trust, continued support

ABVP Konkan Province secretary Rahul Rajauria said the result shows that students have continued to support the organisation despite what he described as challenges and narratives against ABVP. He said the youth are making decisions after verifying information and assessing the work done by organisations.

Rajauria said the victory on all nine seats represents students' confidence in ABVP's work and ideology. He also described the third consecutive win on all nine seats as a matter of pride for ABVP activists, while stressing that the result carries a significant responsibility.

Elected members pledge focus on students

ABVP said its activists will work to ensure that the confidence shown by students through the election result is reflected in their work going forward. The organisation said it intends to address student issues with sensitivity and renewed efforts for their rights and academic interests.

The organisation also congratulated the winning candidates and ABVP activists involved in the election process. It expressed gratitude to medical students across Maharashtra for the trust shown in ABVP and said it would continue efforts to address student issues.
