Andhra Pradesh hikes MBBS fees by 10%, PG by 15% in private medical colleges: Report

The Andhra Pradesh government has increased the interim fees for undergraduate medical courses by 10%, postgraduate and super-speciality programmes by 15% at private medical and dental colleges for the academic year 2026-27, the Times of India reported.

According to the report, the MBBS fees under the management quota has been hiked to Rs 14.52 lakh from Rs 13.20 lakh, whereas the NRI quota fee has been increased from Rs 39.60 lakh to Rs 43.56 lakh.

Moreover, the BDS fee under the management quota was raised to Rs 4.84 lakh from Rs 4.40 lakh, whereas the NRI quota from Rs 13.20 lakh to Rs 14.52 lakh, it added.

The medical course fee under the competent authority quota was fixed at Rs 18,150, the report read.

Revised UG, PG fees apply to 4 private medical colleges

The tuition fee for a clinical course has been fixed at Rs 5,71,320 under the A category, Rs 11,42,640 under the management quota and Rs 66,12,500 under the NRI, institutional quota, it said.

Whereas, the revised fees for the para-clinical degree and diploma courses were fixed at Rs 1,78,538, Rs 3,57,075, and Rs 1,61,874 accordingly, it read.

Rs 80,937 has been fixed for pre-clinical courses under the A category, Rs 1,61,874 under the management quota, and Rs 10.58 lakh under the NRI, institutional quota, it added.

The government has also raised the fee for super-speciality courses at Rs 19,83,750 from Rs 17.25 lakh. The revised fee applies at five private medical colleges such as GSL Medical College, Katuri Medical College and Hospital, Narayana Medical College, NRI Medical College and Dr Pinnamaneni Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences, as reported by the ET.

However, the report also mentioned that the AP higher education fee regulatory and monitoring commission was not in a position to process and recommend the fee structure for 2026-27 as the commission was not completely constituted and the detailed rules are awaited, it added.
