NEW DELHI: Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has postponed group 2 main exam 2024. Candidates appearing for the mains written examination for APPSC group 2 services can check the official notice b visiting the official website of APPSC at psc.ap.gov.in. The APPSC Group 2 main examination was scheduled to be held on January 5, 2025, but it has been postponed to February 23, 2025.

“In continuation to the Commission’s Web Note & Press Note, dated: 30.10.2024, it is hereby informed that the Mains Written Examination for Group II Services (Notification No.11/2023) scheduled to be held on 05.01.2025 is rescheduled on 23.02.2025. For other details visit the Commission’s website http://psc.ap.gov.in regularly”, the official notification read.

The APPSC Group 2 Mains examination has been postponed for the second time. Initially, the examination was set to take place on July 28, 2024, but was delayed due to administrative reasons. This exam aims to fill approximately 900 vacancies across various departments of the state government.

The APPSC preliminary screening test for the APPSC Group 2 exam was conducted earlier on February 25, 2024. It was held in a single shift, running from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm, and took place at 1,327 venues spread across 24 districts in Andhra Pradesh. Following the completion of the preliminary exam, the results were declared on April 10, 2024.

APPSC Group 2 services selection process

  • After successfully passing the Mains Exam, candidates who make it to the final stage are called for the Interview, also known as the Personality Test.
  • The interview panel evaluates the candidate's knowledge of current affairs, decision-making abilities, and ability to handle administrative challenges.
  • The final selection is based on the marks obtained in the Mains Exam and the Interview.
  • Merit List: A merit list is prepared considering the candidate's performance in both the written exam (Mains) and the interview. Candidates are then ranked according to their total score.
  • The weightage for each stage is generally:
    • Mains Exam: 75% of the total score.
    • Interview: 25% of the total score.
