Assam NEET UG counselling 2025 dates out for MBBS, BDS admissions

Try NowThe Directorate of Medical Education (DME) in Assam has announced the online counselling schedule for admission to MBBS and BDS programmes. Counselling will be done on the basis of NEET UG 2025 scores. Students of Assam domicile have 85% of the seats reserved under state quota, while the remaining 15% of seats will be filled by students from other states.

The DME will conduct admission counselling for Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) on its official website - dme.assam.gov.in. There will be no offline counselling conducted for these seats, said an official notice.
Students applying under the special category - freedom fighters, martyrs of Assam Movement or extremist violence, ex-servicemen, serving defense personnel, and sports quota - have to appear for physical document verification on July 18, before the counselling begins.

All students who have appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate (NEET UG) can check their names in the Assam state provisional merit list 2025. All students mentioned in the list are eligible to participate in the counselling.

Assam medical colleges
The state of Assam offers 1,600 seats for MBBS admissions, and 176 seats for BDS admission. The MBBS programme is offered at seven colleges of Assam.

- Fakharuddin Ali Medical College, Barpeta
- Tezpur Medical College, Tezpur

The BDS programme is offered by three colleges:
- Regional Dental College, Guwahati
- Government Dental College, Dibrugarh
- Government Dental College, Silchar
