Bihar education department issues new dates for recruitment of school teachers: Report
The Bihar government has to recruit around 91,000 teachers in elementary schools and over 30,000 teachers in secondary and higher schools

NEW DELHI: Bihar school education department has issued fresh dates for recruitment of school teachers, the officials told Hindustan Times.
On July 29, the department had reportedly deferred the recruitment of teachers till further notice due to panchayat elections.

While the third stage counseling at the block level will be conducted on December 22, 23 and 25, those under urban bodies will be conducted on January 17, 18, and 19. The counselling at the panchayat level will be held on January 28. The merit list will be uploaded on the concerned district’s web portal of the National informatics Centre (NIC). Two phases had already been completed prior to the panchayat polls, the report said.

The education department has already issued notification for the appointment of physical training teachers on a fixed salary of Rs 8,000 on 8,386 posts in elementary schools. One physical training teacher will be appointed in each school having above 100 students. Over 3,500 candidates who had qualified for the competitive exam organised by the Bihar school examination board in 2019 are still waiting for their appointment, the report stated.
Bihar education minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary reportedly said that the seventh phase of recruitment would also add the carry forward vacancies of the sixth one. “For the sixth phase, all the appointment letters will be issued together after verification to remove the controversy over seniority once and for all,” he added.

The education department has cleared that in case of complaints of any irregularities in the counseling, it will be the responsibility of the district education officer to report it to the concerned district magistrate, suggest cancellation of counselling within a day, and take action against the recruiting agency, the report said.
