BIMTECH organises ‘India Study Programme 2025’ for Austrian students

NEW DELHI: The Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) has organised the “India Study Programme 2025” for students from FH Vorarlberg, Austria. The 10-day programme was designed to experience India’s rich cultural, social, and business landscapes. The students were also engaged in discussions on sustainability, diversity, and leadership, as per the official statement.

The faculty at the management institute held interactive sessions with the FM Vorarlberg’s students and cultural activities, field visits were also part of the programme.

The foreign students visited the Aravalli Biodiversity park (ABP) in Vasant Bihar, New Delhi, a gender and child development initiative at Protsahan, Agra Fort and the Taj Mahal.

“The curriculum was carefully designed to provide students with a deeper understanding of India’s heritage, sustainability challenges, and corporate ecosystem,” the institute said.

The programme also included a visit to SCORE Livelihood Foundation at Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh where fourteen students and two faculty members of the FH Vorarlberg engaged in cross-cultural discussions, interacted closely with local communities, and understood the challenges, practices in sustainable development in water, agriculture, horticulture, and forestry, the institute added.

India Study Programme 2025: Yoga, meditation and Dilli Haat

Furthermore, the students also visited the Khajaraha village in Babia and Ghedhava village in Badagaon block. They also spend time at the Climate and Applied Forest Research Institute, RISE-Jhansi incubation centre, and Lakshya community radio station.

Interestingly, a single night stay was organised for the students with Indian families in pairs, with an aim to offer them experience of local traditions and lifestyles.

The programme also consisted of academic sessions with lectures on topics such as sustainable business practices, the role of ayurveda in holistic wellness, and the impact of environmental challenges. The students were also part of the practical experiences such as meditation, and yoga sessions.

Students shared their experience and were part of the feedback discussion after the 10-day programme. “Students from both the institutes participated in group discussion on Sustainable Development Programs and recognised that achieving SDGs, and slowing climate change requires global collaboration by developed, developing and underdeveloped countries on different scales and resources,” the institute said.

They also visited Dilli Haat where the students experienced India’s diverse handicrafts and cultural expressions, it added.
