The fake notice has added to the confusion among candidates awaiting revised date for postponed BPSC 72nd CCE preliminary examination.

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has cautioned candidates against a fake notice circulating on social media claiming to provide latest update on 72nd combined competitive examination (CCE) preliminary examination and also the recruitment calendar for 2026. In a post shared on its official X account, the commission clarified that the notice has not been issued by BPSC and is "fake, misleading and false". It urged candidates and the general public not to believe or circulate such unauthorised notifications.
"The Commission has not issued any such notice," BPSC said.
The fake notice claims that there will be a meeting of BPSC chairman, secretary, controller of examinations and other members to decide schedule for 72nd CCE preliminary examination and other competitive examinations proposed. It further states that most major examinations would be conducted after the Chhath festival, while some smaller recruitment exams could be held in October. It also said that the examination calendar would be published on commission's official website on August 7.

The Commission has advised candidates to avoid forwarding or sharing misleading posts on social media. It emphasized that all official notifications, examination schedules and recruitment-related announcements will be published only through its official communication channels.
The clarification comes amid speculation over the revised schedule of the 72nd combined competitive examination. The 72nd CCE preliminary examination was originally scheduled to be held on July 26, 2026. However, BPSC postponed the examination through an official notification issued on July 18, citing unavoidable reasons. The Commission is yet to announce a fresh examination date.

The recruitment will be conducted in three stages: a preliminary examination, main examination, and a personality test or interview.
