NEW DELHI - The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has released the CAT 2021 notification in online mode on July 31. Candidates can access the IIM CAT notification 2021 from its official website- iimcat.ac.in. CAT exam notification includes all the details on CAT events and dates. As per the released CAT notification, IIM Ahmedabad will conduct CAT 2021 on November 28, and the CAT registration process will begin from August 4.

There is no change in the CAT exam pattern and syllabus. Like last year, IIM Ahmedabad will also conduct CAT 2021 in three slots of 2 hours each- Slot 1 will be held from 8:30 am to 10:30 pm, slot 2- 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, and slot 3 will be held from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
The CAT 2021 question paper will have three sections- Verbal ability & Reading comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). Each section will have a 40 minutes sectional time limit and PwD candidates will get (53 minutes and 20 seconds) to solve each section. VARC section will have 26 questions, DILR will have 24 and QA will have 26 questions.

CAT 2021 application fee increased: IIM Ahmedabad has notified that the CAT application fee has been increased. CAT application fee for General/ OBC category has been increased Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,200 and for SC/ ST/ PwD category has been increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,100.
The number of CAT test cities increased: CAT 2021 will be conducted in 158 cities across India. Last year, the total number of CAT cities was 156. CAT 2021 will be conducted at over 400 CAT test centres in 158 cities.

Added CAT test cities - Madgaon (Goa) and Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh)
CAT 2021 exam date- CAT 2021 will be held on November 28, 2021 in three slots Morning, Afternoon, and Evening.
CAT test duration- CAT 2021 each slot time duration will be of 2 hours (120 minutes).
Total questions- Like last year, the CAT 2021 question paper will have a total of 76 questions.
CAT sectional time limit- Candidates will get 40 minutes to solve each section of CAT 2021.
Choice of 6 test cities- While filling CAT 2021 application form, candidates can choose 6 test cities as per their preference.

Candidates should have completed their graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
Qualifying marks- General category candidates need to secure 50 percent marks in total aggregate and 45 percent marks for candidates belonging to the reserved category.
Age bar- There is no specific age limit to appear for the CAT entrance test.
Those who are pursuing their final year of bachelor’s degree are also eligible to appear for CAT 2021.
IIM Ahmedabad will begin CAT 2021 registration on August 4 from 10:00 am onwards. Eligible candidates will be able to fill the CAT application form till September 15, 2021. After closing of CAT 2021 registration, the CAT correction window will take place to edit the submitted application form.
About CAT 2021
IIMs annually conducts Common Admission Test (CAT) annually on a rotational basis. It is expected that more than 2.3 lakh applicants will register for CAT 2021. IIM Ahmedabad (the conducting body) will release the CAT 2021 result tentatively in the second week of January 2022. Post declaration of CAT result candidates will have to apply individually to the IIMs and will have to appear for the selection process in order to take admission.
