NEW DELHI:
Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, has made some changes to the CAT 2021 eligibility criteria. Students with “promotion/ pass” instead of “award of marks” certificates in any of the last two years of the bachelor’s program can enter the “promotion/ pass” option in the CAT application form 2021. This will allow the students to complete the CAT registration 2021. This revised eligibility relaxation is also applicable for students in their final year of graduation with an “award” of marks.

CAT 2021: Revised eligibility criteria
Due to the COVID pandemic, the universities and colleges have changed the assessment criteria in the past two years to assess the performance of the students. Many institutes did not conduct examinations and promoted students. They issued "promotion/pass" certificates instead of "mark" certificates leaving the CAT applicants confused.
The CAT applicants raised questions and doubts on CAT registration due to the "promotion/ pass" certificate issued in the undergraduate programmes. Therefore, IIM Ahmedabad made these changes in the CAT exam eligibility criteria and issued clarifications for CAT registration 2021 .
CAT eligibility for students who graduated in 2020 and 2021
To implement the different assessment patterns adopted by various universities across the country due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the CAT committee has removed the minimum marks criteria (45% and 50%) for appearing for the IIM CAT exam 2021.
