NEW DELHI: IIM Ahmedabad has released the important CAT exam day guidelines on its official website, iimcat.ac.in. Along with it, the authorities have also issued COVID-19 protocols set by the Government of India which include sanitization of the CAT exam centres, temperature check at the entry, physical distancing, use of face masks, and hand sanitizers, etc. The general CAT 2021 instructions to be followed are related to carrying the government ID along with the CAT admit card to the centre, reaching the CAT exam centre before the reporting time, guidelines including the dress code, set of items to be carried, and the ones not permitted, etc.

CAT 2021 is scheduled for November 28 in three shifts. The first shift will be held between 8:30 am and 10:30 am, the second from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm and the third between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm. CAT exam duration is two hours and the centres will be sanitised from time to time. Hence, candidates are advised to strictly follow the important instructions mentioned on the CAT 2021 hall ticket.

Here are some of the basic CAT exam day instructions that must be followed by the candidates:
CAT Admit Card 2021: Candidates are required to present the CAT admit card for verification in order to enter the CAT test centre. Also, they must print all the pages of the CAT hall ticket on A4 size paper and affix the same photograph as used while CAT registration. Candidates must carry any one of the original and valid photo identification proof such as:
PAN Card
Driving License
Voter ID
Passport
Aadhaar Card
E-Aadhaar
Ration Card
CAT Reporting Time: Aspirants taking the CAT 2021 on November 28 are advised to reach the CAT exam centre well in advance. No candidate shall be permitted to enter after the gate closing time. However, students must not report later than 8:15 am for the forenoon session, and 12:15 pm for the afternoon session, and 4:15 pm for the evening session. CAT 2021 aspirants will have to go through a CAT admit card verification process before the exam commences. They will also have to undergo thermal screening.

CAT Dress Code: Candidates appearing for the CAT exam will have to follow the below-mentioned dress code:
What to wear?
Socks, plain pullovers
Sweaters or cardigans but without any pockets
What not to wear?
Any kind of jewellery
Garments with large buttons
Shoes/ footwear with thick soles
Also, those with a metal implant, pacemaker, etc in their body are required to bring a supporting medical certificate of the same at the CAT test centre.
Candidates must maintain social distancing at the CAT test centre till their exit from the premises.
The body temperature of a candidate will be checked at the CAT exam centre via thermoguns.
Candidates are supposed to bring with them a facemask, gloves, personal hand sanitizer (50ml), and a transparent water bottle.
At the registration desk, candidates will be asked to sanitize their hands using the sanitizer. Photographs will be captured during the registration process.
Mapping of 'Candidate Application Number’ and ‘Lab Number' will not be displayed outside the CAT test venue in order to avoid the crowd. However, the same will be provided to each candidate individually at the time of entry.
