The CAT 2023 exam is to be conducted tomorrow (November 26). The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow is conducting the MBA entrance exam in three different slots with a CAT exam time duration of 120 minutes for each slot. So, when is CAT exam 2023? The CAT exam timing 2023 is- CAT 2023 slot 1 from 8.30 am to 10:30 am, CAT 2023 slot 2 from 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm and CAT exam 2023 slot 3 from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm.

This year, more than 3.3 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the CAT 2023 exam in 155 cities across the country. IIM Lucknow has announced the important CAT 2023 exam day guidelines, dress code, and do’s and don’ts on CAT official website - iimcat.ac.in.
CAT 2023 exam day guidelines
Candidates appearing for CAT exam 2023 must follow the list of important CAT exam rules and instructions given below.
- Affix the photograph in the space provided on the CAT admit card before handing over for verification at the test centre.
- Arrive at the test centre on time according to the reporting time sent to you by SMS and email the previous day. For the morning session, report not later than 8:15 AM, 12:15 noon for the afternoon session and 4:15 PM for the evening session.
- Be cooperative while the exam center staff checks your documents and during the security check.
- The barcode printed on the CAT hall ticket 2023 will be scanned at the scanning desk. The location of the test lab will be communicated after scanning the Barcode.
- Once you finish the exam, sign your IIM CAT admit card in front of the invigilator and drop it in the provided box before leaving the Test Lab.

- Original ID proof i.e. Aadhar card/ Voter ID card/ PAN card/ Driving Licence/ College ID/ Employer ID
Additionally, candidates will be allowed to carry face masks, sanitizer (100 ml), medical certificate and scribe affidavit. Is jeans allowed in CAT exam? Yes, jeans is allowed in the CAT exam 2023 centre, candidates are advised to wear comfortable clothing and avoid wearing clothes with a lot of pockets.
CAT 2023 Do’s and Don’ts: CAT exam rules and dress code
To avoid cancellation of candidacy, it's recommended that candidates carefully review the dress code, CAT exam rules and instructions provided below.
CAT Exam Day Do’s
- Do not take the CAT 2023 exam more than once. Candidature will be cancelled if a candidate is found to appear for the test multiple times.
- Do not carry any prohibited items such as electronic gadgets, calculators, own stationery items, pens, wallets, and goggles etc. inside the Test Lab.
- Do not attempt to cheat or copy answers from others during CAT exam 2023.
- Avoid getting into arguments with other candidates or Test Centre staff.
- Do not wear any jewelry (metallic items), shoes or footwear with thick soles, and garments with large buttons inside the Test Lab.
CAT Exam Day Don’ts
- Carry all the important documents to the CAT exam centre.
- Obey the instructions of invigilators.
- Do the rough work on scratch sheets provided at the test lab.
- Ensure to mark your attendance at the CAT exam centre.
- Visit the centre prior to exam day to avoid getting late and arrive on the given CAT exam time.
