According to statistics published by IIM Lucknow on iimcat.ac.in, CAT 2023 had over 3.28 lakh applicants of whom about 35% were female. As many as 3.28 lakh candidates had registered for IIM CAT 2023 but ultimately, 2.88 lakh - approximately 88% - wrote the exam. 

The organisers just declare the percentile scores of the candidates in the IIM CAT results 2023. What percentile is required for admission is decided by the institute admitting on the basis of CAT scores. For IIMs, even a relatively new one like IIM Udaipur, the CAT percentile required is upward of 90. 

The CAT 2023 was held in three sessions. The scores awarded to candidates in each second are normalised to ensure fairness across the different sessions. The sum of these "scaled scores" is the "overall scaled score" in the CAT results. 

The 14 CAT 2023 result toppers - all scoring 100 percentiles - come from 10 states and UTs. Maharashtra is the only state with more than one topper.

IIM Rohtak is yet to issue cut-offs but judging by past trends, it is expected to be 95+ percentiles.

The MDI Gurgaon CAT cut-off last year was 95+ percentile. It will issue fresh CAT cut-offs for the 2024 round of admissions. 

The IMI Delhi CAT cut-off last year was 90+ percentile. It will issue fresh cut-offs for the 2024 round of admissions. The IIM CAT results 2023 were declared at iimcat.ac.in on Thursday. 

SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) will issue fresh cut-offs for CAT results 2023. Last year, SP Jain CAT cut-off was 85+ percentile. 

The IIMs' admission criteria include much more than CAT cut-off for IIM for general and other categories. The include a host of other factors, including scores in school exams, academic history at the UG level, gender and more.

A total of 91 non-IIMs will also use CAT 2023 score card this year for admission into their management programmes. The details on the non-IIMs that are registered with CAT can be found on the official website of CAT. Candidates are advised to check the CAT official website to ensure the institutions you are applying with the CAT score are registered with the CAT centre.

There is only one woman among the 72 CAT 2023 candidates to score 99.98, 99.99 and 100 percentiles. The vast majority of the toppers are also engineers with just 19 among them coming from non-engineering backgrounds.

All IIMs and 91 other colleges will use CAT Result 2023 scores for admission. Typically, the highest scorers opt for the IIMs. But there are at least two dozen B-schools that have CAT cut-off marks much lower than that.

The organisers of IIM CAT 2023 has not declared sectional cut-offs for CAT 2023. That responsibility belongs to the individual colleges - all IIMs and 91 other colleges - that will used the CAT 2023 results to admit students.

As per the official CAT notification, the CAT result 2023 is scheduled to be announced in the second week of January 2024. Candidates will be able to check and download their CAT 2023 scorecard by using CAT user ID and Password.

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% percent marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD) in graduation to pursue MBA programme. They must also appear for CAT 2023 to qualify for the selection procedure of top MBA colleges like IIMs and IITs.

Usually, the CAT results are announced in the second week of January. If IIM Lucknow follows last year’s trend it might release the CAT 2023 result in the last week of December.
