The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the Session 2 examinations for Class 10 students from today, May 15. Over 6 lakh students who opted to appear for the second session must carry a printed copy of the admit card along with their school ID card to the examination hall. As mentioned on the hall tickets, candidates should reach the exam centres before the reporting time to avoid a last-minute rush. No student will be allowed to enter the examination centre after 10 am.
CBSE has also advised students to plan their travel, keeping local weather and traffic conditions in mind, and ensure they arrive at the centre well before the reporting time.

Only prescribed stationery items will be permitted inside the exam hall, while electronic devices, including mobile phones, are strictly prohibited on the examination premises.
The board follows a 9-point grading system for Class 10 students. Exams carry 80 marks for theory and 20 marks for internal assessment and practicals. Students must secure at least 33% marks to pass. To calculate the percentage from CGPA, students need to multiply their CGPA by 9.5. For example, a CGPA of 8 translates to 76%.
CBSE 10th board exams will conclude on May 21.

The CBSE Class 10 Mathematics syllabus is divided into several units with specific weightage. Number Systems carries 6 marks, while Algebra has the highest weightage of 20 marks.
