The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the CBSE Class 10 science paper 2026 today from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. CBSE Class 10 phase 2 exams 2026 will be held till May 21. Students appearing for the CBSE Class 10 board exam 2026 must carry their CBSE 10th admit card to the exam centre for verification purposes.

Students are advised to reach the exam centre before the gate closing time, which is 10 am. Candidates will be given 15 minutes to read the CBSE 10th question paper. CBSE began Class 10 phase 2 board exams 2026 from May 15 and will continue till May 21.
CBSE has already issued the CBSE 10th phase 2 exam admit card on the official website, cbse.gov.in, which can be downloaded using the application number or roll number.

Once the CBSE 10th science exam 2026 is over, subject experts will share analysis based on students’ reactions. The phase 1 CBSE board 10th science exam was “easy to moderate” in difficulty. A few of the questions were straightforward, while the MCQs and skill-based questions were somewhat tricky.

To qualify for the CBSE board exams 2026, students must secure at least 33% marks in every subject, including theory, practicals, and internal assessments. In subjects involving practical examinations, students are also required to obtain a minimum Grade D and must pass both the theory and practical components separately.
In a first, CBSE introduced two board exams from the academic year 2025-26. Under the new system, students who pass the phase 1 exam are eligible to improve their scores in up to three subjects, including science, maths, social science and languages.
CBSE will consider the best score from the two exams and prepare the final Class 10 marksheet for each student.
As per CBSE, around 6.68 lakh regular candidates have registered for the CBSE Class 10th board exams 2026, of whom 85,285 have opted for compartment exams, 5,25,655 for improvement, and 57,914 will be appearing for both categories.
Notably, science is the most popular subject to reappear. Around 4.74 lakh students have registered for the science exam, followed by standard maths and basic maths.

Earlier in the CBSE Class 10 phase 1 exam, the science 10th paper was 'easy to moderate' in difficulty. As per the students' reaction, they were able to complete the exam on time and were satisfied with the difficulty level. The 10th science paper has a mix of skill-based and moderate questions, mostly based CBSE sample papers.
