CBSE Class 12 Maths Overall Analysis 2026

CBSE Class 12 Maths had combinations of easy, moderate, and application-based questions.

As per the subject expert from MR Jaipuria Schools, the section A MCQs were mainly concept-based and assessed students’ fundamental understanding of various chapters. The assertion-reason questions required logical analysis and the ability to apply concepts, reflecting the growing focus on competency-based evaluation.

Sections B and C had very short and short answer questions that tested students’ procedural knowledge as well as the clarity of their conceptual understanding.

The long -answer questions in section D were moderately difficult and required students to combine and apply multiple concepts, especially from areas such as matrices, probability, vectors, and three-dimensional geometry.

These questions were effective in evaluating higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills. Additionally, the case study–based questions in section E linked mathematical concepts to “real-life contexts.”
