NEW DELHI : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced cost-free psycho-social counselling for students starting from February 1, 2025. CBSE is conducting counselling sessions aiming to support students of Classes 10 and 12 during their exam period.

The CBSE counselling session for students will be held in two phases, one before the CBSE board exam 2025 begins and the second after the results are announced. For the academic year 2025, the counseling services for students and parents will continue till April 4, 2025.

“This initiative aims to alleviate examination-related stress and support students as they prepare for their theory exams, scheduled to commence on February 15, 2025.” the official CBSE notice read.

According to the official notice, CBSE encouraged all students and their parents to take advantage of these valuable resources to ensure a stress-free and positive approach for their upcoming board exams.

CBSE Board Exams 2025: Features of the counselling services

Students can check the other important details related to CBSE's annual psycho-social counselling for students and parents as follows:

24x7 Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS)

A toll-free IVRS service will be accessible at 1800-11-8004 and will provide round-the-clock assistance in both Hindi and English. The IVRS offers:

  • Tips for stress-free exam preparation

  • Time and stress management techniques

  • Answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs)

  • Important CBSE contact information

Tele-Counselling Services

A team of 66 trained professionals-including principals, counsellors, special educators from CBSE-affiliated schools, and psychologists-will offer voluntary support to students.

  • Services will operate from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Saturday.

  • 51 counselors are based in India, while 15 counselors will connect from Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.

Podcasts/Audio-Visual Content

The resources including bilingual podcasts, and videos to address stress management, preparation strategies, and mental well-being will be accessible on CBSE official website at cbse.gov.in.
