CBSE Board Exams: MHA identifies 3,000 evaluation centres

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Home Affairs has identified 3,000 Central Board of Secondary Education-affiliated schools to start the evaluation of answer sheets of Class 10 and 12 students. The evaluation process of answer sheets will begin from tomorrow.
On Saturday, the Human Resource Development minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, announced that these schools will be marked as “assessment centres” through his official twitter handle.
Over 1.5 crore answer sheets will be transferred from these assessment centres to the homes of teachers for evaluation. The process will be completed in approximately 50 days.
“I am confident that we will evaluate 1.5 crore answer sheets of 173 subjects soon and as soon as the examinations of 29 subjects are completed between July 1 and 15, the results will be declared soon after their evaluation,” he wrote further.
Pokhriyal expressed his gratitude to the MHA for helping in providing the 3,000 CBSE schools which will help in speeding up the evaluation process

The ministry will grant special permission for the "limited purpose" of evaluation to these 3000 assessment centres. A notice released by the ministry said: "There will no restriction in transporting answer sheets to the residences of evaluators except in areas falling in containment zone,"
There are 16 regional offices of CBSE which will be operating without restriction.
The dates of result declaration are yet to be announced. He also directed the states to begin evaluation of the CBSE exams that have already been conducted.
On May 8, the minister declared the dates for remaining exams for Class 10 and 12. The exams will be conducted between July 1 and July 15.
All CBSE examinations of Classes 10 and 12 were re-scheduled between March 19 to March 31 due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic. Class 10 examination will only be conducted for the students who saw the riots in North-East Delhi in February.
