Notably, Atal Residential Schools in Varanasi and Prayagraj have delivered 100% pass rate in the CBSE Class 10 board exams 2026.
Over 50 students from the Uttar Pradesh government-run residentials schools have scored above 90% and around 250 students achieved between 80% and 90% marks in the CBSE Class 10 results 2026.
Similarly, centrally-run government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalaya (KVs) and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) have the best pass percentage with 99.57 % and 99.42 % respectively in the CBSE 10th results 2026.

CBSE 10th Results 2026: Students from UP govt-run residential schools
Sangam Yadav, a student of UP government-run residential school in Azamgarh secured first position, scoring 97.6% marks in the CBSE 10th exams 2026, followed by Harsh Kushwaha with 97.2% marks in second place.
Moreover, Harshit from Prayagraj has made his place in the third position with 95.8 per cent marks in the CBSE first attempt exam.
The Atal Residential Schools are part of the UP Government initiative - Atal Residential School Scheme. The objective of the scheme is to provide quality education, and residential education to children of construction workers and underprivileged sections.
“Atal Residential Schools focus not only on quality education but also on digital learning, sports, skill development, and overall personality development, which is evident in these excellent results,” according to an official notification.
In addition, other students from the UP government-run residents schools also achieved top marks in the CBSE Class 10 results 2026. Ganesh from Agra secured fourth position with 95.4% marks, while Uday Pratap from Moradabad secured fifth position with 95% marks.
Anil Rajbhar, labour and employment minister, said: “The Atal Residential School Scheme was developed with the aim of providing modern, quality, and residential education to children of construction workers and underprivileged sections. A strong infrastructure, modern teaching facilities, qualified teachers, and a holistic educational model have been created to ensure a better future for these children.”
Explaining the strong and disciplined academic environment in the UP government-run residential schools, Pooja Yadav, director general of Atal Residential Schools, stated: “A strong and disciplined academic environment has been developed in the schools, where continuous focus is placed on the overall development of students. Through coordinated efforts of teachers, administration, and management, it is ensured that every student gets the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
