Those who have failed to secure the minimum passing marks, i.e 33 out of 100, will have to appear in the improvement exams. CBSE will conduct the class 12 supplementary exams on July 15. According to CBSE, around 1,63,800 students have been placed in the compartment category this year. The supplementary examination will be conducted as a single-day examination. Students eligible to appear include those who were placed in the compartment category as well as those who have passed Class 12 in 2026 but wish to improve their performance in one subject only.

Students can download their scorecards or marksheets now from cbse.gov.in, DigiLocker, UMANG app, and other platforms like IVRS, SMS. CBSE Class 12 marksheet includes the student’s name, roll number, school number, date of birth, and parents’ names. Regular students must apply through their respective schools. CBSE does not accept direct applications from regular candidates for supplementary/improvement exams.
Steps to apply for CBSE improvement exams
Private candidates can apply online through the official CBSE portal:
- Visit the CBSE private candidate application portal.
- Select the “Improvement” category.
- Enter details from your previous Class 12 admit card and marksheet.
- Choose the subject(s) you want to improve.
- Upload scanned photograph and signature.
- Pay the application fee online.
- Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

- Visit the official website cbse.gov.in
- On the homepage, click on the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 link
- Enter your roll number, school number, and admit card ID and click on submit button
- Your CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 will appear on the screen
- Download the marksheet PDF and save it for future use
Students will have to collect their original marksheets from their respective schools later.
