CBSE makes health and physical education as a compulsory subject in schools

NEW DELHI MARCH 18: Central Board of School Education(CBSE) has decided to implement Health and Physical Education (HPE) program for class 1 to 8 from the session 2019-20 onwards. Last year, the board made health and physical education (HPE) compulsory for the students studying from Class IX-XII. The program is introduced in the continuation of the last year program.

Now the board advised to all affiliated schools of CBSE to prepare a timetable for session 2019-20 and directed to reserve one period a day for Health and Physical Education for the class I to VIII. This subject is introduced with the aim of holistic development of the children and it will also develop team spirit and create both mental and physical toughness of students.

Due to this decision of the board, now all the affiliated school will keep reserve one period for the HPE program for classes 1 to 12.  CBSE will issue the revised and updated transactional strategies, detailed guidelines and Methodology for administering HPE program to students on the official website shortly.
