Chandigarh University bags overall trophy for AIU National Youth Festival 2025

Chandigarh University has qualified for the AIU National Youth Festival 2025 being held from March 3 to 7, 2025.

NEW DELHI: The Chandigarh University (CU) has once again qualified for the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) Inter-University North Zone Youth Festival 2025. The 38th AIU Inter-University North Zone Youth Festival 2025 was held at Panjab University, Chandigarh. CU has also qualified for the AIU National Youth Festival 2025 which will be held from March 3 to 7.

According to Chandigarh University's statement, 49 students took part in the youth festival competing against 962 students from 21 universities across the North zone. CU achieved the AIU North Zone trophy with 26 victories in different categories including – theatre, dance, music, literature, and fine arts.

The university won eight first positions, five second positions, and seven third positions, achieving the 1st overall trophy in theatre, dance, and literature, 2nd overall trophy in music, and 3rd overall trophy in fine arts and procession.

AIU National Youth Festival 2025

Additionally, CU is among the top teams to consistently secure top positions in AIU National Youth Festival 2025 mainly in the theatre field consecutively for the past six years. Furthermore, in the One-Act Play category, CU students lifted the overall trophy for the 8th consecutive year in the North Zone AIU Championships.

"The 2025 Overall Trophy was received by the students along with Jai Inder Singh Sandhu the managing Director at CU and Devinder Singh the pro-vice chancellor during the ceremony held at the campus of Panjab University," the CU statement said.

Expressing appreciation for the remarkable achievement of students, Chandigarh University MD Jai Inder Sandhu said: “It It is an honour for Chandigarh University to have lifted the overall North Zone AIU trophy, 4th time this year. This has been possible only because of the extraordinary performances of our talented students. Now that they have qualified for the national championship, the university fraternity extends its heartfelt wishes to all participants and anticipates their outstanding performances.”
