NEW DELHI: The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) has announced the practical exam dates for Classes 10, 12 for the academic year 2024-25. Accordingly, the CG board practical exams 2024 will be conducted from January 10, 2025 to January 31, 2025. CGBSE practical exams will be conducted in two shifts - first shift from 8 am to 11 am and second shift from 2 pm to 5 pm.
“The practical examination/project work for regular students of the High School/ Higher Secondary Examination for the year 2025 will be conducted between 10th January 2025 to 31st January 2025 in the respective institutions. The concerned subject teachers and students must be informed about the dates of the practical examination/project work,” the Chhattisgarh Board said in an official notice.
The state board stated that any student absent from the practical exams or project work will not be granted special permission under any circumstances, nor will the exam or project work be rescheduled. “In such cases, the student will be marked as absent, and the entire responsibility will lie with the school's principal and the students,” it said.
CGBSE asked schools to make the following arrangements for the practical exams, project work, and marks submission:
It is your responsibility to ensure that the practical examination is conducted by the external examiner appointed by the board within the designated time frame. The practical examination should not be conducted by any voluntarily appointed external examiner. If this happens, such an examination will not be valid under any circumstances, and the full responsibility for the students' detriment will lie with the institution's principal.
External examiners will be appointed by the board. After the appointment, contact the external examiner to confirm the date for the practical examination. If the external examiner is unable to conduct the practical examination for any reason, obtain a written explanation from them. In case of such a situation, contact the district coordination agency immediately to make alternative arrangements and complete the practical examination as per the instructions.
The internal examiners will be appointed at the institutional level, and the subject teachers teaching in the institution will be appointed as internal examiners.
No external examiner will be appointed by the board for the project work. The project work will be organized at the institutional level within the specified time period.
Previous years' unused answer sheets should be used for the practical examination, and if there is a shortage, arrangements should be made at the local level.
After the completion of the practical examination / project work, the list of obtained marks (hard copy) should be signed by the external examiners and the institution’s principal. This list should be packed in examination-specific / subject-specific envelopes, sealed, and the answer sheets should be bundled as follows:
For Class 10 exams, the answer sheets should be packed in white cloth, and for Class 12 in yellow cloth. The bundles should be sealed, and the bundle should be labeled with the following information: the name of the examination, year 2025, subject name, and student number. These sealed envelopes containing marks and answer sheets should be securely kept in the institution for a period of 6 months from the date of declaration of the examination results.
The internal evaluation for the practical examination and project work will be carried out at the institutional level. The practical marks of students whose eligibility is canceled due to lack of necessary requirements will be considered invalid by the board.
After completing the practical examination/project work, the marks should be entered online by 10th February 2025 on the board portal. Print two hard copies of the mark entries, verify them with the external examiners, and get their signatures. After this, the portal should be locked. Please ensure that all entries are thoroughly checked before locking the portal, as no modifications can be made after it is locked. Necessary corrections can be made before locking the portal, but once locked, no application for modification will be accepted.
The deadline for entering marks online is 10th February 2025. After this date, if the portal is reopened for mark entry or corrections, a late fee of ₹1000 per day will be charged per institution, and the portal will be open for two days. The calculation of the late fee will be based on the final date 10th February 2025. Under no circumstances will the late fee be collected from students.
