In order to successfully appear for CLAT 2024, it is important for candidates to adhere to all the exam instructions. The Common Law Admission Test is scheduled to be held on December 3, 2023.

The CLAT 2024 exam instructions cover code of conduct, bell timings, and other relevant guidelines for the exam. In this article, we cover all the important instructions to be followed by candidates on the exam day.
CLAT 2024 timings
Candidates must strictly follow the CLAT 2024 exam timings. The exam will be conducted from 2 pm to 4 pm. However, candidates must reach the exam centre much before that. The table given below describes the timings for CLAT 2024 on the exam day.

Instructions given on CLAT 2024 admit card
The CLAT admit card 2024 is a mandatory document that candidates must carry on the exam day. Without the admit card, one would not be allowed to appear for the exam. The admit card contains all the CLAT exam instructions printed on its face. Given below are some of the major ones

Candidates will be allowed to enter the exam centre premises at 1PM and should be seated in their respective classrooms by 1:30.

Candidates cannot leave the exam hall till the completion of the exam.

No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall after 2:15 pm.

The exam will commence at 2:00 pm sharp.

Candidates must carry a physical copy of CLAT admit card 2024. In case, the photograph on the admit card is not clear they must bring a self-attested copy.

Along with the admit card for CLAT 2024, candidates must also have with them, a government photo ID proof such as aadhar card, voter id, and PAN card.

Candidates must have Black/ Blue ballpoint pens, and are also allowed to carry transparent water bottles and analogue watches inside the exam hall.

The Question Booklet (QB) will have blank pages for rough work. No extra sheets for rough work will be provided.

No clarification can be sought on the question booklet from anyone during the examination. In case of any discrepancy in the question booklet, students must approach the invigilator.

Candidates are required to enter their QB Number and OMR sheet number on the attendance sheet.

If candidates mark more than one circle or any other stray mark in the OMR sheet, it will be counted as a double answer and negative marks would be applied.

If a candidate is found to be indulging in unfair means he or she will be disqualified

Candidates can keep the admit card and question booklet at the end of the exam.
- Candidates must preserve the copy of the admit card as it will be required during the admission process.

Additional CLAT 2024 exam instructions
In addition to instructions printed on the admit card, the consortium also issues certain instructions for the CLAT 2024 exam. Applicants must take note of these instructions as well. They are given below -

Candidates should carry the admit card and a valid ID card to the exam centre. Those who fail to do so will not be allowed to appear for the examination.

Candidates must report to the test centre within the stipulated time

Carrying any study material, and handwritten notes is not allowed.

Candidates are also not allowed to possess any electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches and calculators.
- No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall before the completion of the test.

Certain items are mandatory for the CLAT 2024 exam and candidates must carry them to the exam hall. Some items are prohibited. The table given below specifies the items that must be carried and the ones which must be avoided at all costs.
